What is an International Freight Forwarder?
ACI is a corporation whose corporate purpose includes, among others, the following activities: Coordinate and organize shipments, cargo consolidation of export or import cargo deconsolidation, send or receive outside the transport documents to its activity. The ACI acts on behalf of third parties as a coordinator between the generators and transporters effective charge of it.
What is the consignee?
Natural or legal person to whom the sender or foreign shipper sends a burden, or who has been endorsed transport document.
What is Hazardous Cargo?
That which is officially classified as hazardous, and those that could become dangerous, according to the United Nations classification.
What is a general average?
Damage caused intentionally or in a ship that carries goods to avoid bigger ones in the ship itself or its cargo. The amount shall be distributed proportionately between the parties benefited in such conduct intentionally (ship owner, owner of the goods, insurance, charter, etc.).
What are ICOTERMS?
Incoterms are the acronym for "International Commercial Terms" (International Terms of Trade), issued by the International Chamber of Commerce who has been responsible since 1936 for the development and updating of these terms according to the changes that arise in the international trade. Currently are in force Incoterm 2010 (from January 1, 2011). These are intended to establish the rights and responsibilities between buyer and seller or exporter and importer responsibilities such as defining what the point of delivery and transportation, on whether or not the liability insurance and the documentation, among other things.
